three schools. There are 16 sets of twins who were all enrolled in grade 9 at
Valley Southwoods Freshman High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, USA, in the
academic year 2011-2012. There are also 16 sets of twins who were all enrolled
in grade 10 at Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut, USA, in the
academic year 2011-2012 and 16 sets of twins in the graduating class of 2014 at
the Maine South High School in Park Ridge, Illinois, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the
world record for the Most multiple birth sets in the same academic year at one
school, set by the 2014 graduating class of Maine South High School, which had
3 sets of triplets.
Highcrest Middle School in Wilmette has 24 sets of twins in fifth grade. That represents about 10% of the class, which has about 475 students.
The discovery was made by 11-year-old twins Luke and Ryan Novosel, who attend Highcrest Middle School in Wilmette, a northern suburb of Chicago, when they were looking around for a way to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.
