Made in Nepal expo from February 13

The fourth edition of “Made in Nepal Products and Service Exhibition” is being held from February 13-16 at Exhibition Hall in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
According to the Nepal ese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF), the exhibition is expected to promote Nepal products and services within the domestic market. The four-day expo will feature 150 exhibitors.
At an interaction here on Wednesday, NYEF representatives said the aim of the exhibition is to establish Nepal i products and service as a brand.
The organisers said factors including lack of political commitment and encouraging business policy have hindered the promotion of local products and services despite big potential.
“We want to make aware Nepal i customers that we are capable of providing equally affordable and quality services. There should be all-sided efforts to develop the domestic products and service as a trustable brand,” said Mangesh Lal Shrestha, vice president of NYEF.
He pointed out the need of louder and clearer message on merits of using local services. He said Nepal  i products like garment and handicrafts have the potential to compete in international markets.
“We have been spending billions of dollars in importing foreign products and services while our own products go unnoticed. There is no other way to strengthening our economy than using the local market,” said Shrestha.
Youth leaders from various political parties said they are committed to promoting local products and services.
They stressed on the need for making local products and services more accessible to service seekers.
