Deepika dodges rotten eggs and tomatoes

Dressed in a colourful ghagra-choli, leggy Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone was all set to perform garba on the hit number Nagaada at a daandiya function in Ahmedabad.
But she was stopped from entering the venue by the organisers. The reason? It was because eggs and rotten tomatoes were in store for her, as a group of protesters had gathered at the garba ground to protest against her film Ram-Leela.
Some local groups from Rajasthan and Gujarat have been demonstrating against the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film, starring Deepika with Ranveer Singh, because they say it shows controversial content and misuses the name of Lord Rama. The protesting crowd also objected to Deepika and Ranveer's on-screen kiss.

According to onlookers, the group had come prepared with a huge stock of eggs and tomatoes which they had planned to pelt at Deepika and other members of the film. The organisers reportedly smelt a rat and warned Deepika's manager just before her appearance.

Sources close to Deepika said the protesters, belonging to Jadeja and Rabari communities, were all set to attack the actress as well as the organisers, as they wanted to stress their demand to ban the film.
"A senior member from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's team met the protesters and explained how the so-called offensive portions have been re-dubbed, keeping in mind the sensibilities of various communities," a source said.
"Bhansali had already sent a letter to the protesting community regarding the offensive portions which was related to a particular community from Rajasthan, but the protesters had already made up their mind to cause trouble at the event," the source added.
However, the matter was later sorted out and Deepika finally went to the ground to dance with her fans, who had to wait for more than two hours.
On Tuesday, another peppy romantic number, Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun, from the film was unveiled online.
Sung by Aditya Narayan, the number features wacky lyrics and sees Deepika and Ranveer show off some crazy dance moves.

Camera Man : "It's places like germany that have mandatory show me your papers" Cop : "That's not necessarily a bad thing" What the heck? Did this cop just endorse the "show me your papers" mandates of the nazi regime? I would love to tell the cop the statistical rule that "Correlation does not imply causation". Just because there were not attacks doesn't mean it was caused by the TSA or the "war on terror". Watch Video
