Two Indian looters arrested in Birgunj

Local residents have taken control of two Indian alleged robbers and sent them to the local police Wednesday morning in Birjung, on charges of robbing Rs 375 thousand from a local man.

The duo was caught by the local residents at Adarshangar Main Road Chowk when they were fleeing to their destinations robbing the amount from Santosh Pathak of Pragatinagar.

The two motorbike riders followed Pathak and robbed the amount while he was heading to Adarshanagar-based NIC Asia Bank branch to deposit the amount.

Pathak retrieved his amount as the local police caught the duo with the help of local residents as they were fleeing to their destinations.

The duo, from Siliguri of India, have been taken into police custody.

Rs 26 m of Nabil Bank looted

A vehicle carrying Rs 26 million in cash of Nabil bank that was heading from Madhendranagar to Dhangdai has been robbed on Tuesday. The vehicle (Ma 1. Cha 146), carrying the cash was robbed by the group of masked men at Godawari Bridge in Kailali-Kanchanpur border area. The perpetrators incapacitated the four officials in the vehicle and ran away with the looted money.  The robbers also took mobile phones of three officials among four.  According to the officials, the robbers tied them and escaped.  Meanwhile, police have started interrogating the officials.
