Police constable shoots himself after killing senior officer

A policeman has killed his senior officer before shooting himself at a police station in Dailkeh district on Thursday morning.

Nepal Police constable Kamal Prasad Sharma shot dead Inspector Hem Raj Bhatta early today morning using his service weapon, and later turned the gun on himself at the District Police Office in Dailekh district headquarters, reports coming in say.

However, Nepal Police headquarters is yet to confirm the news.  

Sharma fatally shot Bhatta twice on his head while the latter was sleeping with an SLR. Sharma then committed suicide by shooting himself on the stomach.

Bhatta died on the spot while critically injured Sharma breathed his last while being rushed to the hospital for treatment, police said.

The reason behind the police constable's actions in not known yet.
