EC to publish FPTP candidates today

The Election Commission (EC) will publish the final list of first-past-the-post (FPTP) candidates on Wednesday evening. 
Following the election calendar, 6,352 FPTP candidates had filed their names from 240 constituencies for the CA election. The EC has consolidated the registered candidates, subtracting names that have been cancelled or withdrawn their candidacy.
According to EC spokesperson Bir Bahadur Rai, 185 FPTP candidates withdrew their names on Tuesday from the election. He added that before the final FPTP name-list is published, details will be prepared on candidates who have withdrawn.
After the final name list is published, the EC will distribute official letters to the candidates. The election symbols will be given on Thursday.
