4 killed in Palpa jeep plunge

PALPA, OCT 24 - Four persons were killed and 11 others injured when a jeep met with an accident at Bhukutebhanjyang, Chidipani-3 in Palpa district on Sunday. 

The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1230) heading for Jalpa VDC from Chirtundhara fell some 100 meters down the road, according to Palpa District Police Office Chief Sthaneshwor Regmi.

The deceased have been identified as Bhumisara Barghare, 63, of Bahadurpur, Gyanisara Saru, 26, and Badal Singh Saru, 83, of Jalpa-9, Chandra Bahadur Barghare, 50, died in the accident, police informed.

Bhumisara, Gyanisara and Badal Singh died on the spot, while Chandra Bahadur, owner of the jeep, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Tansen Mission Hospital. 

All the injured have been taken to Tansen Mission Hospital for treatment.

The exact reason behind the accident has not been confirmed.

Rs 26 m of Nabil Bank looted

A vehicle carrying Rs 26 million in cash of Nabil bank that was heading from Madhendranagar to Dhangdai has been robbed on Tuesday. The vehicle (Ma 1. Cha 146), carrying the cash was robbed by the group of masked men at Godawari Bridge in Kailali-Kanchanpur border area. The perpetrators incapacitated the four officials in the vehicle and ran away with the looted money.  The robbers also took mobile phones of three officials among four.  According to the officials, the robbers tied them and escaped.  Meanwhile, police have started interrogating the officials.
