Aircraft caught fire

KATHMANDU, MAR 08 - An aircraft of Indigo Airlines caught fire on the main landing gear shortly after landing at the Tribhuban International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Saturday afternoon.
The Airbus A320 with call sign IGO 031 and 182 persons on board including six crew members was taxiing at the tarmac when wheel number 4 of the main landing gear suddenly caught fire . General Manager of TIA Rishikesh Sharma said that the fire was immediately doused with the help of a fire engine stationed at the airport.
The aircraft had landed at 12:33 pm this afternoon.
One passenger sustained minor injury while evacuating the plane. No further damage was caused in the incident.
The plane had arrived from New Delhi.

The reason behind the fire remains to be ascertained.

NFL player Darren Sharper

An arrest warrant has been issued for former NFL player Darren Sharper and his acquaintance, according to the New Orleans Police Department. The 38-year-old is accused of raping two women in New Orleans last September.  Both Sharper and his acquaintance, Erik Nunez, 26, each face two counts of aggravated rape. Last week, investigators learned that not one, but two women were allegedly sexually assaulted by Sharper in the same apartment the night of September 23rd.  New information uncovered also indicates that Nunez also allegedly raped both women that night at the same location. Louisiana law states that a person convicted of committing aggravated rape shall be punished by life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. The investigation continues and additional arrests are possible. In all, Sharper is now being investigated in eight cases in five states on accusations of sexual crimes.
