At least 11 persons have been killed when a passenger bus met with an accident at Melkharka in  Dadeldhura  district  on Sunday morning. The bus (Na 5 Kha 789), en route to Kailali from Bajura, fell some 300 meters down the road. Thirty-five others have been injured in the accident. Dadeldhura DSP Krishna Prasai informed that 10 among the injured are in critical condition. Paul Walker, star of the "Fast and Furious" films, died Saturday in a single-car accident and explosion. According to TMZ the actor died in a car accident and explosion in Southern California. The online report states the accident occurred in Santa Clarita, just north of Los Angeles. The actor was reportedly riding in a Porsche that lost control for an unknown reason and hit a post or tree before bursting into flames. Multiple sources have told TMZ that Walker and another person were killed in the accident. At this point, it is unclear what caused the accident or who exactly was behind the wheel when it took place. According to the report, the actor was in Santa Clarita for a car show to support the relief effort for the Philippines typhoon and was taking friends for rides in a new Porsche. A section of leaders from the CPN-Maoist that boycotted the recently held Constituent Assembly (CA) elections have stood in favor of participation in the new CA, though with a condition.  Some key leaders of CPN-Maoist have even approached senior leaders of Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML to convey their willingness to participate in the new CA provided they are given “respectable” number of seats, according to political sources.  The CPN-Maoists leaders have proposed increasing the CA seats through an amendment to the Interim Constitution-2007-- something Nepali Congress and CPN -UML have opposed so far.  A senior NC leader confirmed that the CPN-Maoist leaders had forwarded such a proposal, but refused to divulge the details. “They have demanded an amendment to the interim constitution to participate in the freshly elected Constituent Assembly.  As the country gears up to celebrate the World AIDS Day , stakeholders have said that the prevalence of HIV among adults (age group of 15 to 49) is gradually decreasing and if the trend is maintained till 2015, the country is sure to meet the millennium development goals for HIV/AIDS. The World Aids Day is marked every year on December 1 and has a theme of "Shared Responsibility: Strengthening Results for an AIDS-Free Generation" for this year. According to a report of the National Centre for AIDS and STD Control (NCASC), which will be released on Sunday, the prevalence rate is now 0.28 percent (in 2012). It was 0.3 percent in 2011, 0.33 in 2010 and 0.39 in 2009. The prevalence rate looks into 15 to 49 years age group, which is more prone to being infected with the HIV. The MDGs-6 has set fixed targets for HIV/TB and Malaria and other disease. Who would have thought that one day Nepal would be playing in a World Cup event? We are all proud of our lads and hope they will do well in the T20 World Cup. Our cricketers should give motivational speeches to our clowns and inspire them to work together to write the constitution on time. I think our political parties should host their own T20 cricket matches and settle their differences over a game of cricket instead of using their cadres to bash each other up and making our lives miserable by shutting down schools, businesses and highways.
